    October 15-16, 2010
    First Baptist Church, Austin, TX

This 6th annual Summit is an opportunity to spend a weekend connecting with other women who want to influence and empower the lives of women worldwide by investigating and becoming involved in meeting global needs of women.

The two-day Summit schedule offers six opportunities to participate in investigative sessions led by local, national and international women who are actively involved in missions and the issues of women. Over 20 sessions will be offered covering issues such as human trafficking, everyday justice, gender equality, public policy, Christian leadership development, economic development, and issues of health, safety, and spirituality that affect women everywhere.

The Summit provides opportunities to experience powerful worship, meaningful dialogue, hands-on ministry projects, and transformative friendships. The Summit also includes a marketplace featuring women-produced, fair-trade products, viewings of women-focused media, an internet café, an interactive prayer experience, and information about ways to connect with Global Women ministries throughout the world.

Creating Liberated Spaces in a Postcolonial World
    November 1-3, 2010
    Atlanta, GA First Presbyterian Church

The 2010 Emergent Village Theological Conversation will feature a global panel of theologians- Musa Dube of Botswana, Richard Twiss of the Lakota Sioux tribe, and Colin Greene of the UK. Engaging issues ranging from mission to postcolonialism to the AIDS epidemic, the Conversation is sure to be as rich as it is lively. Our panel of theologians will share stories and parables from their traditions, discuss their latest theological research, and challenge the Western American Church to engage and welcome voices from the margins.

I’m not speaking at this event, merely helping plan it. It looks to be an amazing conversation.

  • SA logoThe Salvation Army Mission and Environment Conference: A Call for Imaginative Faith
    February 25-27, 2011
    Orlando, Fl Hilton Hotel

Join us in Orlando, Florida on February 25-27, 2011 as we embark on a contemplative path that directly links mission with the environment. We will discover our call to imaginative faith by learning how the environment is tied to the Salvation Army mission. Not only will we be blessed to be challenged in these areas, but God has provided many speakers to discuss our personal call to stewardship, justice, the conservation of resources, greening our facilities and many more! We look forward to joining our brothers and sisters in Christ on the mission and environment journey and answering the call the God has placed deeply on our hearts!

I am on staff at Rutgers University-New Brunswick with the Multi-Ethnic Fellowship. This year we are crafting our ministry around social justice to investigate evangelism, outreach and multi-ethnicity. I have read your book and we are hoping to study it for small group. Your intro alone was so powerful. I see that you speak at IV chapters would you be willing and available to come speak at our chapter? Ideally, we would love to have you September 16, as that would fall nicely in our line-up but if that doesn’t work (you seem like a high demand busy person :-) ) would there be dates in the Spring that you would be willing and available?

    Thank You
    Glorianne Wright
