Didn't see any contact info/links. Just wondering if you would be interested in reviewing a book on a topic with which most American Christians are only superficially familiar I'd be glad to email the word document.

Hi Julie.

I just read an old 2007 post of yours here:

http://blog.beliefnet.com/jesuscreed/2007/11/letter-about-those-pesky-calvi.html

The original blog by Scot McKnight addressed a real problem in American protestant Christianity: arrogance among many Calvinists. I experienced this many years ago. Although I was impressed with the intellectual vigor of reformed theology, I was offended that many of their leading thinkers implied that any rational person would automatically agree with them. In fact, I found many of their arguments to ignore (at least) half of the biblical evidence that supports free will and "cooperate election" (instead of individualistic election).

You offered encouragement to "those of us who have had our Christianity questioned because we don’t follow one guy’s theological ideas or who have been ridiculed by the reformed thought police" and who "wish there was a better way forward." I appreciated your insight and boldness to say this.

Hi Julie, Are you familiar with MOPS ( Mothers of Preschoolers)International? I will be stepping into the role of board chair in July and I am eager for thoughts on how MOPS fits within the emerging church world. I notice you write about the emerging church and you are a young mother, so you seem an ideal person to provide such thoughts. Thank you.

You are a great writer. You can count me as a new loyal reader.

My blog is Generous Matters at rbbasinger@word press.com.

I read your post on Sojourners about the hate mail you've received, and I am just sick about it. I wanted to tell you that I am a huge fan of Sojo and always skim through the articles in my reader, but I always read posts by you. I love your boldness and courageousness. Way to be a lover, a warrior for the ignored, a loud voice against evil. There are so many in the church who are nothing like Jesus, but I think your posts often sound just like the Jesus I know. Don't be discouraged!

I read your article in support of the Cordoba House on their website. Can you please provide one example of a muslim institution in the US that is modeled around the YMCA?Will this institution permit women to pray beside men? What will be the dress code for girls in the swimming pool? Around which muslim country's culture will this House model its own? Can you provide some examples of mosques in the US where non-Muslims routinely visit for jobs, shelter or recreation like the YMCA? Will the prayer room allow a Hindi to pray to an idol God? How will this institution reach out to gays and lesbians?

I, too, just discovered your blog. LOL. Anyways, you may remember my brother and me (I'm sure Mike would); we used to come to - I think it was called 'Shine' - the youth group at Wheaton, IL. Anyways, I've bookmarked your blog and would read it from time to time.
