The Hobbit is Happening

Being a complete nerd, having read the books dozens of times, and watched the movies countless more the dreams of all of us "Let the Hobbit Happen" fans are coming closer to being fulfilled. So I can't help but mention the LOTR news of the moment that Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh will be involved in the production of The Hobbit films. And yes I said films. There will be two movies made from the book and it is set to start filming in 2009 with the first one released in 2010 (Christmas most likely). Read more here. So yes, that is three years away, but it is still happy news. So should we start promoting a "Let the Silmarillian Happen" fan club???

Hurray! Good news just in time for Tolkien's 115th birthday on January 3rd. (We decided a couple of years ago just to canonize the brother and celebrate his birthday as a feast day. It's great fun.)
I'm really behind on reading my feeds. It would have taken days for me to get to this news through my normal channels. Thanks for breaking it to me!
