This sentence spoke out to me most in this post. I know that I've wanted to feel like that (someone else's reality didn't really exist or wasn't really important if it isn't my reality) when we all talk about feminism and the church since my mainline upbringing wasn't affected by complementarianisma, as far as I can tell. Your husband really sort of shook me out of that.

So, after that experience, I'm interested to see an example that hits much more closely to home, since McLaren's re-write does echo my experience with theology that doesn't feel right but is all that I've ever known.
